Our Christian believer’s identity is our purpose. We know more than we used to know, but we need to know more than we now know! That requires spiritual vision (MOMENTUM) empowerment to see and understand all of God’s plans in “this so great a salvation.”
God is giving us a road map for the way in which we should walk (MOMENTUM)! “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” (Isaiah 30:21)
Let’s look at some biblical examples of MOMENTUM:
From Genesis 1:1-3: 1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” God spoke and released MOMENTUM and IT WAS! He was saying “Let there be MOMENTUM (REVELATION EMPOWERMENT) of ME!” When God speaks, it has to be. When He told the Israelites, “I am going to give you houses, wells, etc. I am going to give it all to you,” it had to be.
DELIVERANCE from EGYPT: When the Israelites came out of Egypt, there was MOMENTUM. The burning bush that was not consumed, the crossing of the Red Sea, the plagues, water from the rock, the manna from heaven, to name a few. With God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).
After the Persian invasion, the walls of Jerusalem were broken down for 72 years, but there was NO MOMENTUM that prompted them to rebuild. Work was required and Nehemiah 4:6 says that Nehemiah brought a spiritual vision (MOMENTUM) that caused the people to have “a mind to work.” We have work to do! Jesus is our Commander and,
through the Holy Spirit, He will give us MOMENTUM EMPOWERMENT to do it! Like Caleb, we can say, “We are well able to do it!”
In Exodus 33:12-22, God promises Moses his presence and promises to show him His goodness. And He said, “My Presence (MOMENTUM) will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
