In today’s issue, we continue to look at the Bible’s revelation truths of our born-again identity.
Every Christian believer needs to know the teachings of Jesus.
Our born-again identity determines what authority we have in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). (Because of what He did at Calvary… but it doesn’t end there.)
Our born-again identity determines our inheritance. (i.e. the maneuvering prodigal made wrong choices; but was drawn back by the father’s love.)
Our born-again identity determines our action – at the right time with divine appointments. “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21). “I know when I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
Let’s go back to Genesis… “In the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God” (John 1:1). In Genesis 1:3 God said, “Let there be light.” – Let there be a revelation of the Lord! He spoke light into existence, and the Holy spirit moved upon the face of the waters. Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12) – the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:16). We need the Holy Spirit to give us the enlightenment of Jesus who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.
We need discernment! We just can’t go out on our own. We must be factual, making right decisions. We must agree with what determines our born-again identity. We need a revelation of the whole Bible.
In Nehemiah 8:10, we learned a great truth… “The joy of the Lord is our strength!” Understanding and obeying scripture brings joy to our hearts and teaches us to acknowledge god’s hand in our success! “The good hand of my God was upon me”(1:8).
In our next write-up, we will move to the New Testament and look at some of the people who heard the voice of God and committed to be a key part of the work of Jesus. The following is an example …
- Like Mary when the MOMENTUM (SPIRITUAL REVELATION) comes let us respond with, “Let it be unto me according to Your Word!” (Luke 1:28)
Get GOOD MOMENTUM from the Spirit of God. Let us not be like the 10 spies who passed on bad MOMENTUM that discouraged the people. When SPIRITUAL MOMENTUM comes, it brings an eager response to God’s will.
